Avro Heritage Museum
The Avro Heritage Museum celebrates the remarkable legacy of Alliott Verdon-Roe and his company, A.V. Roe & Co (Avro). Situated on the historic grounds of the former Woodford Aerodrome near Stockport in Cheshire, the site boasts a rich history, having been the birthplace of iconic aircraft such as the Lancaster, Vulcan, Nimrod, and BAe 146.
This captivating museum is brimming with engaging exhibits, including the sole all-white Vulcan bomber. Visitors of all ages will find plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy. The on-site café serves light refreshments and offers stunning views of the majestic Vulcan bomber, proudly displayed outdoors.
Entirely self-funded, the Museum depends on admission fees for its operation and is run by dedicated volunteers, many of whom have personal ties to Chadderton and Woodford through their previous work.
