Stockport Council have decided to reintroduce fortnightly that Blue bin collections for paper, card and cardboard in the run up to Christmas 2026.
This decision follows a review of how the service has been operating and feedback received. The council have decided that reintroducing fortnightly collections will help residents recycle more easily ahead of Christmas when volumes of cardboard and paper increase.
Current collection arrangements should be followed until further notice. Updated collection calendars will be published on the Stockport Council website in September and sent directly to every household. This will include full details of future collection arrangements with residents receiving advance notice before any new arrangements take effect.
