Ground Rules:

  • Feel free to write a new article whenever you have news of your organisation.

  • We do not allow people to be identified in a negative story. Provided you have obtained permission from the individuals, you may write news about people in a positive manner. Eg. 'Local football team won cup and John Smith scored a great goal. His dribbling was wonderful'. Be factual.

  • Only write news about your organisation. Do not write personal views etc. For this we have the Bramhall Forum.

  • Please don't SHOUT by writing your headline, summary or story in all CAPITALS.

  • Please only enter pictures in the Content section - do not enter pictures in the Summary section as this will spoil the overall layout.

Please note that to move down one line only in the news content area (the wysiwyg) you will need to hold the shift key down while you press enter.

Procedure for writing an article :-

  1. Logon using the Artman Login' link on home page of BramhallWeb (below navigation).

  2. Click 'Create Article'

  3. Give your article a Title. This will appear at the top of your article - Please limit your title so that it fits into the space provided. No long Titles !

  4. Click the filename box - this should fill automatically - leave this as is.

  5. Make status - Visible

  6. Select a category under which you want your article to appear. Then click 'add another category' to add your article to more pages. For instance, if you are a school, select 'Bramhall News' (this will add your article to the home page) then add it to the 'Community' category (this will add the article to the Community News Page) - and you would also want to add it to the 'Education' category so it appears on the Schools and Education page.

  7. (If the category options are not showing you are using Internet Exporer 9+ and you will need to click a small button at the top of your browser window to enable Artman to work correctly. Go to the website address at the very top of your browser window and click the little icon on the right that looks like a torn piece of paper - wait ........ and the category options should now be showing.)

  13. Content - write your story using the WYSIWYG editor - note - If you are copying the content from another program, it is best to paste it into notepad first and then copy it from notepad and paste into the Artman wysiwyg. This gets rid of any formatting and displays the article correctly. You can then use the wysiwyg to format your story. Find notepad at Start>Programs>Accessories on your computer.
