Stockport Grammar School pupil, Andrew Ward, of Bramhall has been selected, through rigorous trials, to join the North of England U16s rugby squad, having initially played for Cheshire U16s.

Hugo Corbett, Andrew’s rugby teacher said:

“Andrew has worked extremely hard throughout the season and I am so pleased to see that this has paid off with his well-earned selection for the North U16 squad.  The key to Andrew’s success is his willingness to take on board, and act on, any advice that he has been given and I am sure that he will go on to do himself justice at the Divisional Festival”

The Lead Coach of the England U18s, Lead Coach of England 16 Group and Lead Coach of England U16s 'A' were all in attendance, as were some of the England 16 Group selection team who commented on the outstanding level of this year’s trials.
