Duck Race and Family Fun Day

Over the course of the afternoon there will be a series of ‘Massed Start’ races in which 1000 ducks per race will compete over the full course length. The number of these races will depend on how many tickets are sold. (The same 1000 ducks will race in each event, with Race 1 being for ticket numbers 0001 to 1000, Race 2 for ticket numbers 1001 to 2000 etc.)
Prizes of £100, £50 and £25 will be awarded respectively to the first, second and third ducks to cross the finish line.
We anticipate at least 4 Massed Start races on the day and would be looking for sponsors to put up the prize money for these (£175). In return, sponsors would receive a free quarter page advertisement in the Event Programme and the race would be named after them in both the programme and in PA announcements on the day.
Tickets for ducks will be on sale at various venues for some weeks before the event. These will be published on the web sites when a firm programme is established. In addition, tickets will be available on the day in Bramhall Park.
As well as the Massed Start races, we intend to hold 3 Specialty Races over a short course. These will be for 10 larger ducks which will be decorated by the participants.
